CAMP OVERVIEW

 

That’s right, we are heading up the mountain Sunday, July 28th – Saturday, August 3rd with 350 students and leaders for what promises to be an epic week at summer camp.

If this is your first time, Hume Lake is located in the Sequoia National Forest outside of Fresno. Check out these videos from past years to get an even better idea of what this awesome week will look like: Middle School – Meadow Ranch and High School – Ponderosa.

Our prayer is that through this insanely fun-filled week, every student would come to know Jesus as their personal Savior and Lord and live a life fully committed and surrendered to Him.

CHECK-IN

July 28 at 6:15 AM

 

  • Complete ALL outstanding payments!
  • Get all your forms done (Crossline medical, as well as Hume medical forms)
  • Do not be late!  The check-in process begins at 6:15 AM
  • Watch our check-in video!  This video lays out exactly what departure looks like and even what it looks like when we come home!
    • STEP 1: Check in your camper
    • STEP 2: Label Bags
    • STEP 3: (optional): Medication Drop
    • STEP 4: Drop bags at your bus
    • STEP 5: Medical Screening, this will happen on the morning of our departure. Hume does not allow sick kids to come up to camp.
    • STEP 6: Fellowship Center Huddle

TRANSPORTATION

 

  • We charter buses to Hume.  Hume is located about 1.5 hours outside Fresno within the Sequoia National Park.
  • Bus assignments are given during the check-in process.
  • Schedule up to Hume:  Once check-in is complete, we will board the buses, we’ll stop at a rest stop in Tejon Pass, we’ll have lunch in Tulare, and then arrive at Hume in the late afternoon.
  • Schedule back from Hume: We will leave Hume at 7:30 AM, have lunch at the Grapevine and then return to Crossline in the late afternoon.

CAMP BASICS

 

Packing Essentials

Bible / Notebook or journal / Pen or pencil / Sleeping bag & pillow / Active clothes for warm and cool weather / Jeans & sweatshirt for the evening / Tennis shoes / Clothes you can get dirty and play in (rec clothes) /Toiletries / Sandals / Sunscreen & bug spray / Modest bathing suit (Girls -1 piece (no cheeky / thong bottoms or a large dark t-shirt over 2 pieces); Guys – no speedos & shirts must be worn when not swimming) / Towels (bath & pool) / Trash bags for dirty clothes / Water bottle / Flashlight

Hume Camp Activities

Hume requires all campers to complete a swim test if they want to do ANY water activities (pool, lake, or pond). These will take place on Sunday and Monday.

  • Please note that activities are different this year, Crossline has purchased spaces for Paintball ($20) and High Adventure ($20) activities in bulk.  Have your child bring cash to Hume if they choose to participate in any of the extra activities below:
    • Paintball
    • High Adventrure

COMMUNICATION

 

  • While at Hume, there is no service or Wi-Fi
  • Phone service will be lost around 1:30 PM on July 28 and regained between 8:30 and 9 AM on August 3.
  • There are pay phone that children can use to call home!  Pack change.

Can I send mail or care packages?

Short answer!  YES.  Please keep in mind for camper mail – to ensure that mail reaches you or your child, send 5 days prior to desired delivery date.

BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS

 

 

 

No Bullying

Hume Lake is a coveted week for our students. Ruining it by bullying others will not be tolerated.

No Pranking, No Stealing

If behavioral issues persist, your student will lose free time, we will call home, and finally, you will need to come to get your child from camp.

What NOT to bring

  • Drugs (unless prescribed by a doctor*)
  • alcohol
  • tobacco
  • fireworks
  • firearms
  • electronic devices (other than phones)
