Stepping Up, Stepping Out:
The Lord calls us to be strong and courageous in our life as His followers. It’s as true for us as it was for Joshua, who was responsible for leading the Israelites into a land promised to them, but filled with enemies and obstacles. As we go through this series, we will explore how God prepares and empowers those who are willing to be courageous to step up to God’s calling and step out in faith to overcome the obstacles that try to hinder them from God’s Kingdom purposes.
I Am:
Who is God? A simple yet unfathomably deep question. More importantly, are you GETTING TO KNOW THE GOD OF THE BIBLE? Perhaps no question more informs the way we live our lives than this question. Maybe that is where we start…looking at our lives. What does your life say about your answer to this question? How would understanding him more fully and accurately impact your thoughts, your relationships, and your actions? In this 5-week series, you will examine the character and attributes of the God of the Bible. You will learn to understand God better, to trust in him with all your heart, and to live, pray and obey with condence. Big thoughts about God inspire big faith, and big faith motivates big action! God is beckoning you, “who do you say I AM?”
Learn MoreMan Myth Legend:
He was born just like us, a baby boy. No Wealth. No influence. He was a son, a brother, a friend, and a carpenter. He spoke to large crowds but spent more time with small numbers of people, people that were ordinary men and women, some even outcasts. He traveled by foot, from home to home, town to town, never leaving an area the size of New Jersey. He only taught for three years and died in his early thirties. He didn’t leave an heir or army to champion his cause, only followers.
Yet his message grew, not through social media or viral videos, but simply by people saying what he said and doing what he did. Years later, his message still grows and grows. He is the central figure in the world’s best-selling book and the subject of thousands more. His name is known all over the world. His message has outlasted kingdoms, empires, dynasties, revolutions, dictators, and ideologies. He is arguably the most influential, hated, exalted, controversial, revered, divisive, quoted, provocative, and praised person who ever lived, but he was just a man…or was he?
LEARN MOREExpectation:
In Expectation, we will have the chance to dive into the Bible and explore the truths from the book of Acts, Chapter 1. When one decides to become a follower of Jesus, they are born into a new covenant, and all of the very great and precious promises from Jesus become theirs. Great promises produce great expectations. Throughout this study, as you look at the example of the disciples in the time between Jesus’ ascension up to heaven and the coming of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, you will discover a posture of life that followers of Jesus can take on when they are patiently seeking the fulfillment of God’s promises.
LEARN MOREOutpouring:
Jesus told his disciples that his departure from this world would be a good thing because something better was right on the horizon. He also told them that they would do even greater works than He did while he was with them. He was speaking of the coming of the Holy Spirit. When the promised Holy Spirit pours out on us, we are clothed with power. That power has specific purposes and will accomplish those purposes. In this series, we will look at what a life filled with the Holy Spirit looks like and accomplishes
LEARN MOREAdvancement:
In Advancement, we will have the chance to look closely at Acts chapters 3 and 4 and get a picture of how a community, filled with the Holy Spirit of Jesus, acts. Jesus said in Matthew 16 that He was going to build a church that would prevail against the gates of hell. Never for an instant was He intending to build a church that would walk timidly and fearfully in the world, shrinking back from opposition. He was going to build a church that would be filled with the power of God to forcefully advance against demonic strongholds and the afflictions of a broken world. In this series, we will get the chance to see how believers in Jesus can move confidently, with authority, to claim territory amongst the broken and the lost, against the opposition and within the church.
